It is always a good idea to book an engagement session with your wedding photographer so that you have an opportunity to grow comfortable in front of the camera. Many people would be surprised to know that pre-wedding engagement sessions are like fashion editorials and they require planning. There are plenty of decisions that go into a photograph that, if all goes well, stays with you forever. Here are a guide to our approach:
VIBE | What will these photos be used for? If you would like to announce your wedding via social media or create a wedding website, it would be best to schedule your session as soon as your venue is booked. This allows us to photograph a preview to the theme or style of your wedding in order to prepare guests
WARDROBE | What is the wedding dress code? If you are hosting a black tie wedding, your engagement photos should reflect that. We offer two looks in our premium packages so that you could take a more casual approach.
LOCATION | Where would you like to go? Generally speaking, there are two different lighting styles bright lifestyle or dramatic documentary and are three different locations in Los Angeles beach, greenery and architectural.
HAIR + MAKEUP | Who will do you wedding makeup? Your engagement shoot is the best time to have a trial with your wedding makeup artist and hair stylist. You can use this opportunity to play with your style and make sure your glam squad is on the same page. It is also a good idea to set a timer to approximate how long it takes to look flawless.
TIME | What time should your session start? Golden hour is the universal ideal time for gorgeous photos. We schedule our sessions an hour or two before the sunsets and a calculator for the ideal time to start throughout the year can be here
